Germans and their Descendents have always been an important part of South Australia's heritage, comprising ten percent of the population since the very earliest days of white settlement.

The South Australian German Association (German Club) was established in 1886. Our aim is to promote, encourage and foster German language, culture, habits and social life in Australia.

The German Club has 20 groups, which cover a wide range of activities to meet the needs of our members. The group activities provide an additional entertainment value and keep members of the German Association, German and non-German in friendship together for many years. We are famous for two annual special events in particular, the Oktoberfest and the Schützenfest. Relive the experience in our galleries.

To join the SA German Association, simply fill out an application form and return it to us.

The German Club also offers many facilities – all poker machines free. Most facilities are available for booking by members and non-members.

The German Club with its convenient city location in Adelaide offers first class catering, counter meals, bar facilities, regular entertainment and facilities for private functions.

We cater from small to medium functions in the "Wolf Blass Weinkeller", "Robert Homburg Room", "Hans Heysen Room", and "Matthew Flinders Hall (Ballroom) with Carl Linger Hall" seating up to 550 people. We also cater for conferences, seminars, weddings, birthday celebrations, casual or formal dinners, parties and any other events important to you.

In addition, there are "German Voice in South Australia" broadcasts from the heart of Adelaide that can be heard on 5EBI 103.1 FM. These broadcasts share music and information in German six days a week and can be downloaded after airing.

The "Adelaide German School" has also got some exciting news online. Its website not only makes the school more accessible for prospective students, but also allows the already enrolled school community to utilize the latest educational software.

You are welcome to enjoy "German Gemütlichkeit".
